Here is an example of one of the autotomotive world's living legends: The Caterham Super 7.

Not a replica or a clone, Caterhams are the authorized descendent of the Lotus Super 7.  

This particular car is a model year 2000 de Dion, powered by a U.S.-legal, fuel-injected Ford Zetec 2.0. It was originally purchased and assembled by an aircraft engineer, then sold to me shortly thereafter.

It is road-legal, registered and titled (not a process for the impatient). There are a small number of cosmetic flaws, entirely keeping with normal wear. It has never been smoked in and has seen only one brief rainfall.
