Watkins Glen International Race Track Laps and Lunch

Watkins Glen Race Track that is already stuff of legends, and you can take a few laps, TOURING LAPS.
The LOONYs have done this 3 or 4 times over the past few years. A great way to see the track like
you have never seen it before. Afterwards you have lunch at the Glen Club, the restaurant in the infield over looking the track.

If you would like to do this, choose the option at the bottom of the registration form.

You have to be at Gate 2 (on County RD 16) at 11:15 on Friday August 2nd or Sunday August 4th.
(You can do both days, but each day is priced seperately so it would double the amount of one day)

They will direct you to a staging area where you will then enter the track during the lunch hour.

You will have a photo opportunity at the start finish line between laps 2 and 3.
After the 3rd lap you will be directed to the Glen Club for lunch which is included in the price. This usually take till about 1:30 which leaves you plenty of time to take in the Motor Racing Research Library, the Glen itself (you know, with waterfalls), the Glenn Curtiss Museum orone
of the many other things to do in Watkins Glen.

(just a note, if you want to go the Curtiss Musuem, there is a great back roads drive in the LOG book to take advantage of to get there, one of our favorite drives)

Located just south of Watkins Glen, on County Rd 16, the Glen is still the premier road racing circuit in the USA.
Now I know there is the COTA and Road America, both great tracks, but the history of the Glen is just the stuff of legends
and more importantly, of Lotus legends. The site of the first Team Lotus Grand Prix victory by Innes Ireland in 1961.
Team Lotus has won here seven times (fitting that it is SEVEN times) during the 60’s and 70’s. Last Lotus driver to win
here was Ronnie Peterson in 1973.
