Brian

Brian Vaccaro has been part of the Lotus world since age 16.  Despite growing up around the Lotus-lunatic, Tony Vaccaro, who made Brian work on cars and go to a few car events growing up. Brian did not decide to join the club until he got his first (1990) red Miata.  Referred affectionately as the “Training Lotus” the Miata served him faithfully until recent years when he has been taking, and he promises with permission, the 2005 red Lotus Elise to Lotus events.  He has been to six LOG’s so far and plans on many more.  He has also been fully adopted into the Lotus way of life as he has begun to learn how to work on Lotus cars, which many know is a necessity of ownership.  With experience on Elans, Elises, original 7’s, and Caterhams Brian is beginning to understand what the meaning of Lotus ownership really is.  He looks forward to his first (co-)chairing of a LOG event and to meeting every member there!

Tony Vaccaro purchased his first Lotus in 1972. Tony will tell you that he really did not learn what it was to enjoy his Lotus Elan till he met Will Burnham and Bill Baldwin when the LOONYs were formed in 1987 to put on LOG 7.  Tony has continued to try and make owning a Lotus as enjoyable and memorable for the many Lotus owners he has brought into the Lotus way of life, as well as keeping the LOONYs alive, a directive he was given by Will.  Tony says that is probably the most serious task he has ever taken to heart. Having attended 21 LOG’s, led regional Lotus meet-ups, and set up countless LOONY breakfast drives, Tony has done just that, kept the LOONYs alive for all to enjoy the Lotus experience. As Arnie Johnson once said to one of Tony’s friends he met at Hethel (while his friend Rick was working on the Lotus V8 for AC Cars), “Tony is one or our Lotus faithful”. He truly is.  He looks forward to meeting everyone at this year’s LOG which will be his 3rd chaired LOG for Lotus Ltd.
