Caterham For Sale |
Here is an example of one of the automotive world's living legends: The Caterham Super 7.
Not a replica or a clone, Caterhams are the authorized descendent of the Lotus Super 7.
This particular car is a model year 2000 de Dion, powered by a U.S.-legal, fuel-injected Ford Zetec 2.0.
It was originally purchased and assembled by an aircraft engineer, then sold to me shortly thereafter.
It is road-legal, registered and titled (not a process for the impatient).
There are a small number of cosmetic flaws, entirely keeping with normal wear.
It has never been smoked in and has seen only one brief rainfall.

To duplicate this car today would run in the high 30s, never mind the delay in waiting for its arrival, as well as the time necessary for assembly (or the added expense of having it done for you). Also, you would need to deal with the red tape of getting it on the road, whereas this example (registered in NY State) is ready to drive.
