1974 Lotus Europa – 743806R
Restoration Completed
8/20/1996 – Acquired car complete with right front dent, left rear quarter heavily damaged
and left rear wheel and suspension removed following car being hit while parked.
9/96-7/97 – Complete 350 hour body-off restoration including replacement of chassis,
left rear suspension and aluminum wheel and left rear quarter of body. Brake system restored
without weak vacuum-assisted servo unit (parts on hand), valves ground,
water pump replaced,
ignition system upgraded to electronic, interior replaced/restored,
including aluminum racing dash face. Body removed, media blasted, blocked, primed, painted
with PPG flexible (Corvette) paint. Adjustable Spax shocks replaced, lightweight Panasport wheels
with BFG R-1 track tires added, restored original aluminum wheels and added BFG Comp T/As
road tires. Other - radiator rebuilt, electric fan and manual switch replaced, one aluminum fuel
tank restored, second tank replaced, windshield and trim replaced, front sway bar moved to rear
and new heavy front bar fabricated, racing 4-pt. seat belts with frame support system,
bumpers re-chromed, tuned exhaust header and exhaust muffler added, exterior chrome
parts re-finished
or replaced. All work and costs documented. Mileage of 19,540 believed to be accurate.
Less than 1,200 miles since restoration. Always stored inside on trailer and covered.
Double-axle Mid-Atlantic trailer with electric brakes and custom-made 10 ft. ramps.
2010 – right-rear drive wheel hub, stub axle and bearings replaced in 2010.
Sale price of $17,000 with Trailer is one-third of cost invested.
Will sell without trailer for $16,000.
